Africa West is offering cargo services from the USA, Europe, Middle East, Far East and all Asia to West Africa and cargo services between the African countries which it serves.

Southbound and Northbound

Africa West is a private owned company registered in Togo. Since it s establishment in 1997 the company was growing steadily. In the beginning we were operating a AIRBUS A300F from Europe to LOME (the capital of TOGO). Later we changed to DC10 and about 2 years ago to BOEING 747 200F. The move to 747 200F (nose and side doors) enables Africa West to carry all kinds of cargo – Long pieces, high, dgr, twice a week. In September 2004 Africa West have introduced cargo flight (B-707) from Dubai to Lome enabling services from the Far East. From 2006 a 747F is operating from this country. Lome was chosen because its location in West Africa is ideal for a center of distribution.
The company owns the warehouse in Togo. Smaller freighters distribute all the cargo that arrives from the 747 and the other frighter flights from Europe and Dubai to the final destinations. Africa West is now utilizing 3 Antonov 12 freighters from Lome. This freighter is capable of carrying about 18 T and pieces up to 12 m long and 2.5 m tall and from June 2008, a IL76 with 45 tons payload As mentioned, Africa West has it's own warehouse in Lome. When the twice weakly 747F arrives to Lome (the departures from Amsterdam) and Dubai(United Arab Emirates) it is completely offloaded by Africa West staff and the scheduled flights are being prepared. Since Africa West knows all the details of each shipment inadvance - when the aircrafts land in Lome all the plans for the other flights are ready.

The two general managers (both pilots) are living in Lome and running the business themselves.

Africa West offers also charter flights to destinations not appearing on the regular schedule usually it takes more then 6 tons to justify such a flight economically. Africa West operates a net of GSA's in Europe (France, Czech Rep., Germany, UK, Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Luxemburg, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Sweden, Italy, Ireland, Swiss), USA, Israel,South Africa, United Arab Emirates, the far east and all Asia. In co-operation with our GSA´s, we have developed an extensive network and are therefore able to accept and forward shipments from most gateways and carry them to their final destination.

One of the main reasons of Africa West’s success is its reliability. Even in the weakest weeks we always kept the flight and didn’t cancel even a single flight in order to keep the service level for the customers. As a part of its services, Africa West is offering an online tracking system via its site. Forwarders, agents, suppliers and consignees can recive the latest status of their cargo by simply inserting their AWB number We are checking other new destinations in West Africa and expect our network to grow in the near future.
Africa is a growing "NICHE" market and we invite the clients and forwarders community to cooperate with us and develop the business together.
